The London, England premiere screening of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" at the historic Central Hall, Westminster - London. Because of audience demand, the festival scheduled a second screening of the film.

 

 

How you can host a Special Sneak Preview Screening of "Dalai Lama Renaissance":

"Dalai Lama Renaissance" has screened in front of sold out film festival audiences throughout the world, has received many positive reviews, has won numerous awards at international film festivals, and and has touched, impacted and inspired many thousands of people.

It will soon be released in theaters and on DVD all around the world.

Before the official release of the film, we would like to provide the opportunity for organizations to schedule a Special Sneak Preview of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" for their community.

Our main intention and goal is to share "Dalai Lama Renaissance" with as many people as possible, and make the film available to as wide of an audience as possible.

** We understand that some centers may not have projection equipment to project the film, or a large hall. We recommend that centers rent a video projector (which are not costly to rent), and screen the film in the room that they have available. For smaller centers and organizations, please email us about the possibility of screening "Dalai Lama Renaissance" with the equipment (and space) that your center has available to you. We would like to do our very best to accommodate every center that wants to screen "Dalai Lama Renaissance" for its audiences. Our goal is to do everything we can to enable as many people as possible to see "Dalai Lama Renaissance," which many audiences have described as a film that has deeply impacted their lives. One thousand people attended the "Dalai Lama Renaissance" opening night screening at the Frozen River Film Festival in Minnesota, where "Dalai Lama Renaissance" had two sold out screenings, and won the festival's "People's Choice Award."

We are deeply concerned about the troubling situation in Tibet, which is a result of the deep frustration, unhappiness and desperation of the Tibetan People, fundamentally caused by the Chinese government systematically importing millions of Chinese immigrants into Tibet, and implementing laws and policies that minimize and repress Tibetan language, arts and culture in favor of implementing Chinese language and culture. The Chinese Government's intention is to overwhelm Tibetan culture in Tibet with Chinese culture. We agree with the Dalai Lama that these Chinese Government policies amount to a Cultural Genocide of the Tibetan People and culture.

We know that people want a way to help and do something positive for the Tibetan People and Culture. We want to take positive steps to compassionately counteract the genocide of Tibetan culture in Tibet. The filmmakers of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" want to do our part in taking positive steps to help preserve and save Tibetan Culture, arts, and Tibetan Buddhism, all of which have benefited and enriched the world.

Thirty-three percent (33%) of all of the net profits from "Dalai Lama Renaissance" will be given to the Tibetan organization of the Dalai Lama's choice, such as two Tibetan organizations that were established by the Dalai Lama to help preserve Tibetan arts and culture: 1) the Norbulingka Institute ( http://www.norbulingka.org and http://www.tibet.org/norling ), and 2) the Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts (TIPA) ( http://www.tibetanarts.org/index.html ). "Dalai Lama Renaissance" was filmed at the Norbulingka Institute, and includes dance and music from the Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts, and it feels special to us that we can give back to help support the Dalai Lama and Tibetan culture and show our support.

By screening "Dalai Lama Renaissance" for your community, not only will you be able to watch and share a film with your friends that has inspired and moved audiences around the world, but you will also be helping to preserve Tibetan Arts and culture, which is being assaulted by Chinese Government policies.

We want your screening of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" to help and support everyone: 1) Helping to preserve and support Tibetan Arts and Culture, 2) By enabling audiences to see and experience an inspiring and powerful film that has moved people around the world  3) by allowing organizations and Spiritual Centers to financially support their positive work by receiving half of the ticket proceeds, and 4) by helping Wakan Films with the costs of distributing "Dalai Lama Renaissance" to theatrical audiences throughout the world.

 

Here is how you can host a Sneak Preview Screening of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" in your theater or for your organization:

1) Decide and choose what date(s) that you would like to hold one or more screenings of "Dalai Lama Renaissance." You may browse other Sneak Preview Screenings that have already been scheduled, here:

2) Read and fill out the screening form below.

 

3) So that the screening of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" serves the Greatest Good, and is a benefit to audiences, your organization and Wakan Films, we believe in equally sharing the ticket revenue from screenings of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" with the hosting organization and Wakan Films. This is a similar model as other "spiritual cinema screenings" used with other spiritual films.

 

4) The Sneak Preview screening fee is a minimum of $250 USD. We ask that you charge $10 per ticket sold to the screenings, and so $250 covers half of the total ticket sales of 50 people who can watch the film at your Sneak Preview Event. We ask that you pay the $250 minimum to reserve a date for your screening. You can pay this amount by check, money order, or credit card.

 

5) To pay the $250 screening deposit fee (so that your screening date will be reserved), you may pay by credit or debit card, or contact us by email for directions as to where you can send a check or money order. Once you have filled out and sent the screening form below, you will be taken to the webpage where you can make your $250 screening deposit payment.

 

6) One week before your screening, we will send you two DVDs of "Dalai Lama Renaissance." You can download promotional materials from the www.DalaiLamaFilm.com website. We will email you the link to the materials once a screening has been reserved.

 

7) Please feel free to contact your local newspapers and press to help promote your screening. To help you promote your screening, the filmmakers of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" will be available for interviews with the press in your city or community. We ask that you make the first contact with the press in your community, and then have them contact us for an interview.

 

8) Your $250 deposit covers half of Wakan Film's share of the first 50 tickets that you sell for your event. For each $10 ticket that you sell above 50 tickets, the ticket price sold is split evenly between Wakan Films and your organization. For example, if you sell 200 tickets to your screening (for a total ticket sales of $2,000), your organization would keep half of that amount ($1,000), and then your would send the other half (minus your $250 deposit) to Wakan Films, which would equal $750.

 

9) 7 days after your screening, please send back the two DVDs, as well as make the payment to Wakan Films from your ticket sales.

 

10) Also, we would like to help your organization fundraise once the DVD of "Dalai Lama Renaissance" is available for purchase at the end of 2008. We would like to offer your organization 20% of the list price of any DVD that members of your organization purchase (we estimate that the list price of the DVD will be $24.99). You may either create a list of names, mailing addresses and email addresses of interested members of your organization and send it to us after your screening, or you may refer your members to the film's website (www.DalaiLamaFilm.com), and ask them to send us an email and mention that they heard about the DVD through your organization. Once a member of your organization purchases a DVD, then we will send you 20% of that sales price. We may also create a banner link that you may place on your website that leads to the "Dalai Lama Renaissance" DVD page.
