Award-winning Dalai Lama Renaissance Film, and its Director, Appear in Montreal and Toronto, Canada for Special Screenings Nov 4 – 6

Narrated by Harrison Ford, the film and Director Khashyar Darvich travel to Montreal (Nov 4 and 5) and Toronto (Nov 6) for special screenings and filmmaker Q&A’s.

Montreal and Toronto, CANADA – After winning 12 awards, and screening in hundreds of cities around the world, the ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ Documentary Film and Director Khashyar Darvich travel to Montreal and Toronto, Canada from November 4 through November 6 for special film screenings and Director Q&A’s.

On November 4 and 5, Darvich makes his first trip to Montreal since ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ captivated audiences at the Montreal World Film Festival with 4 sold-out screenings.

Film Critic John Griffin of the Montreal Gazette called ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ “a provocative, even enlightening film… fascinating, ravishingly beautiful and sonically soothing.”

Both of the Montreal screenings and Q&A’s begin at 7 p.m., and will be held at the McAuslan Cultural Centre. ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ Volume 1 will screen on November 4, and ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance Vol. 2: A Revolution of Ideas’ will screen on November 5, both with Director Q&A’s afterwards.

Darvich then travels to Toronto on November 6 for a screening of ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ (Vol 1) at the Masaryk- Cowan Community Center at 7 p.m.

Featuring the Dalai Lama, and narrated by actor Harrison Ford, the film (www.DalaiLamaFilm.com) tells the story of 40 Western innovative thinkers who travel to the Himalayan Mountains of India to meet with the Dalai Lama to solve many of the world’s problems. What happened was powerful and unexpected, and was captured by a five camera, 18 person crew.

The film features two of the starring quantum physicists from the hit theatrical documentary ‘What the Bleep Do We Know,’ Fred Alan Wolf and Amit Goswami. Also appearing in ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ are Michael Beckwith (who appears in ‘The Secret’), radio host and author Thom Hartmann, revolutionary social scientist Jean Houston, Vandana Shiva (social activist, “The Corporation”), and other prominent thinkers.

Amy Wong of LA Yoga Magazine writes: “it is a stunning tour-de-force [and an] intimate glimpse into the Dalai Lama’s life.”

Film Threat Magazine’s Rick Kisonak said “Dalai Lama Renaissance” is a “comedy sensation,” adding, “I can’t remember the last time a movie made me laugh so hard.”

“I look forward visiting Montreal and Toronto,” says Director Khashyar Darvich, “to share the film with Toronto and Montreal audiences, as well as speaking with them about the inner journey of personal transformation, in the presence of the Dalai Lama, that was captured in the film.”

The Montreal screenings are being sponsored by the HHDL Study Circle Montreal (http://www.hhdlstudycirclemontreal.com), and the Toronto screenings are being sponsored by the Toronto Buddhist Film Festival and the Canadian Tibetan Cultural Centre.

After the Canadian screenings and Q&A’s, Darvich travels to Providence, Rhode Island on November 9, and then to New York City for three special screenings on Nov 11, 12 and 14. On November 24, Darvich travels with the film to Australia for a five week multi-city Australian tour.
